New AWS Account stuck in 'INITIALIZING' status
When you create a new AWS Account it remains in the 'INITIALIZING' status for a prolonged period.
When accounts are created in Stax, the Account Assurance process takes some time to implement its controls and functionality in your new account before it becomes available for use. Generally this completes in under 30 minutes, but sometimes can take longer. You can troubleshoot why an account may remain in the INITIALIZING state for a prolonged reason in a number of ways. If your account is still in this state after trying these steps, please raise a support case with the Stax team for assistance.
Check the Account Provisioning Status
To check the provisoning status of an account, review the Accounts page:
- Log in to the Stax Console
- On the left-hand nav, choose Accounts
- On the Accounts page, click on the account you wish to investigate. The Account details drawer will be displayed to the right-hand side of the page
- At the top of the drawer, click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) and under View Associated, then click Account setup details. The drawer will update to show you the status of the account provisioning. From here, you can gain an understanding of which step is taking time or has failed
Check the Stax Platform Status
You can review the Stax platform and API status on the status page. Issues reported here may impact the ability for Stax to provision new accounts.
Check the AWS API status
Amazon's Service Health Dashboard indicates any known issue with Amazon Web Services components in a given region. If your account is not provisioning successfully, check the Dashboard to see if there are any known issues.
Raise a Support Case
