Create and use Groups to manage AWS account access

Managing how users access your Stax AWS accounts is made simple with the use of Groups. Groups govern the access over a collection of accounts, called Account TYpes. You can add or remove members into Groups and assign which AWS account roles can access each Account Type it governs.

Before You Begin

  • Ensure you are an Admin of your Stax tenancy to manage groups

Create a Group

  1. Log in to the Stax Customer Console
  2. Open the customer menu in the left hand nav (click the arrow next to your alias)
  3. Select Groups from the customer menu
  4. Click + Create group
  5. Enter a Name for the Group
  6. Click Create group

Add Group Members

  1. Log in to the Stax Customer Console
  2. Open the customer menu in the left hand nav (click the arrow next to your alias)
  3. Select Groups from the customer menu
  4. Select a Group to add a user to
  5. Select the tick box beside a user to add them
  6. Click Save

Remove Group Members

  1. Log in to the Stax Customer Console
  2. Open the customer menu in the left hand nav (click the arrow next to your alias)
  3. Select Groups from the customer menu
  4. Select a Group to remove a user from
  5. Unselect the tick box beside a user to remove them
  6. Click Save

Assign AWS Roles to a Group

  1. Log in to the Stax Customer Console
  2. Open the customer menu in the left hand nav (click the arrow next to your alias)
  3. Select Groups from the customer menu
  4. Select a Group to manage AWS account access
  5. Select the AWS account access tab within the Group window
  6. Click Edit access
  7. For each Account Type you would like the Group to have AWS access to, select the tick box beneath the role name (Admin, Developer, ReadOnly)
  8. Click Save

Delete a Group

In order to delete a Group, you must remove all users from the Group.
  1. Log in to the Stax Customer Console
  2. Open the customer menu in the left hand nav (click the arrow next to your alias)
  3. Select Groups from the customer menu
  4. Select a Group to be removed
  5. Click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) within the Group window
  6. Click Delete
