Stax is seeking a Mid-Level Engineer to join our experienced Foundation engineering team in a full-time capacity.

The Mid-Level Engineer is a team contributor responsible for assisting in engineering quality solutions and delivering customer value. We are looking for someone who is keen to apply themselves in building, running and maintaining production applications with an interest in working in a fast-moving environment on top of AWS.

The Foundation engineering team are responsible for building Stax's core product that makes AWS environments secure by default, automated, and takes care of a lot of the foundational heavy lifting so our customers can get on with delivering business value. This is a great opportunity for someone that loves to solve complex problems and thrives in an environment of collaboration and thinking big.

As part of the team, you would be

  • Building services that manage and orchestrate the AWS infrastructure we deploy for our customers
  • Designing and improving existing apis, services, state machines and other supporting systems
  • Taking part in team rituals to define, estimate, and review deliverables
  • Assisting customer success with technical questions
  • Taking part in a rotation responding to incidents and outages
  • Working with AWS services such as Organizations, Identity & Access Management (IAM), Serverless Application Model (SAM), CloudFormation, Step Functions, Lambda, Relational Database Service (RDS), Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)
  • We're looking for someone who

  • 3+ years experience in developing applications to the highest standard. Has a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • Has a working understanding of Python
  • Experience developing, monitoring, and maintaining production applications
  • Exposure to AWS services, particularly AWS serverless building blocks
  • Awareness of what is required to build resilient distributed systems
  • General Understanding of System Authentication / Authorisation principles
  • Excellent communicator within the team
  • Has a DevOps/SRE mindset (i.e. you build it, you run it)
  • Technical at heart, ready to roll up their sleeves and get things done
